Carnival Cruise Line conducted a steel-cutting ceremony on July 2026 at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, initiating construction of Carnival Destiny, the inaugural vessel of its Ace Class fleet set for launch in summer 2029.

Designed to be Carnival’s most outward-facing megaship, Carnival Destiny will feature an unprecedented number of ocean-view balcony cabins. The ship includes a redesigned lanai deck and over 4.5 acres of glass, incorporating expansive multi-story glass walls aimed at maximizing ocean views. More than 70% of its venues and attractions will introduce new concepts for Carnival, spanning next-generation dining, bars, and entertainment facilities.

Line plans to introduce two additional Ace Class sister ships, slated for delivery in 2031 and 2033 respectively. Upon completion, Carnival Destiny will operate itineraries within Carnival’s Paradise Collection, a portfolio of exclusive destinations covering the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico.

The name Carnival Destiny honors the original vessel that once held the title of the world’s largest cruise ship over thirty years ago. This new ship is positioned to continue Carnival’s tradition of innovative cruise experiences by emphasizing enhanced outward-facing accommodations and advanced ship design.

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said, “Carnival Destiny builds on a legacy that

changed cruising once before, reimagining what guests can experience at sea. With this ship, we’re elevating the guest experience again creating a ship that feels more expansive, while helping guests feel more connected and ultimately have more fun.”
