Brazilian carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas inaugurated nonstop service between Rio de Janeiro and New York-JFK on July 8, 2026, marking its first long-haul international route.

Flights operate three times weekly each way using Airbus A330 aircraft. Departures from Rio take place on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with return flights from New York scheduled for Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

GOL’s Existing U.S. Operations and Network

Besides New York-JFK, GOL serves Miami and Orlando airports in the United States. The airline’s route network predominantly connects cities within South America.

Fleet Expansion and Future Long-Haul Plans

GOL plans to add more long-haul routes, including transatlantic destinations, contingent on the delivery of additional Airbus A330 aircraft.

This expansion reflects the airline’s strategy to grow its international presence beyond South America.
