Brazilian low-cost carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas started nonstop service between Rio de Janeiro and New York-JFK Airport on July 8, 2026. The airline operates three weekly flights on this route using Airbus A330 aircraft. Departures from Rio de Janeiro’s airport occur on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with return flights from New York scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The Rio de Janeiro to New York-JFK route represents GOL’s inaugural long-haul international flight operation. Prior to this, GOL’s network was largely focused on domestic and South American connections.
GOL’s U.S. Network and Long-Haul Expansion
In the United States, GOL also maintains services to Miami and Orlando airports
in Florida. The new Rio de Janeiro to New York-JFK service complements these existing U.S. routes.
GOL plans to expand its long-haul operations further, including launching transatlantic flights, by integrating additional Airbus A330 aircraft into its fleet over time.
