London Northwestern Railway (LNR) will experience major service disruptions on July 10 and 11, 2026 due to two days of strike action by the TSSA trade union.
Service Disruptions and Schedules
No trains will operate on the Marston Vale Line between Bedford and Bletchley on either strike day. Reduced services will affect stations at Milton Keynes, Northampton, Watford Junction, and St Albans Abbey.
On Friday, July 10, train operations will cease after 19:00 BST, with the last departure scheduled for 17:30 BST. During the strike, trains between London Euston and Crewe, stopping at Milton Keynes, will run at a frequency of one train per
hour. Similarly, the Birmingham to London Euston route via Northampton will also have one train per hour service.
Travel Impact and Official Statements
Passengers are urged to plan their journeys accordingly for both strike days. The lack of service on the Marston Vale Line will result in cancellations, and reduced train frequencies on affected routes are expected to cause delays and inconvenience.
Jonny Wiseman, a spokesperson for London Northwestern Railway, stated the industrial action by the TSSA union is set to “cause significant disruption for our customers.” He added that LNR is “doing everything we can to minimise the impact.”
Additional disruption is anticipated on
Sunday morning following the strike, due to displacement of trains as services resume to normal schedules.
