GOL Linhas Aéreas commenced nonstop service between Rio de Janeiro and New York-JFK Airport on Wednesday, July 9, 2026. The airline uses Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft for this route, marking its entry into long-haul international operations.

Flight Schedule and Frequencies

The new Rio de Janeiro–New York flights operate three times per week. Departures from Rio take place on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while return flights from New York-JFK occur on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This schedule offers consistent connectivity between the two cities throughout the week.

Alongside this new route, GOL currently serves U.S. destinations Miami and Orlando. Despite its recent U.S. additions, the

carrier’s primary network continues to focus on South America.

Background and Future Expansion

The airline announced the Rio de Janeiro to New York route in March 2026. This launch represents the first long-haul international service in GOL’s history, moving beyond its established short and medium-haul operations.

GOL has communicated plans to expand its long-haul network by adding more transatlantic routes. Such growth depends on the delivery of additional Airbus A330 aircraft to its fleet.
