Severe thunderstorms on June 30, 2026, resulted in widespread flight cancellations at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The adverse weather conditions disrupted flight schedules and operations at these major UK airports.

As a consequence of the cancellations, approximately 40,000 passengers were left stranded at the two airports. Both Heathrow and Gatwick experienced significant operational disturbances, affecting thousands of travelers attempting to depart or arrive on that day.
