The Federal Aviation Administration issued ground stop orders on June 24, 2026, affecting several major airports throughout the United States and Canada. Airports impacted include Atlanta, JFK, Boston Logan, Newark, Orlando, and Toronto Pearson, leading to significant interruptions in air traffic operations.
As a result of these FAA measures, there were at least 169 flight cancellations alongside approximately 680 delayed departures reported on the affected day. These disruptions collectively contributed to extensive operational challenges across the impacted airport hubs.
Multiple major airlines faced disruptions due to the ground stops. Among those impacted were Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, JetBlue, American
Airlines, and Air Canada. Passengers at the aforementioned airports encountered considerable delays and cancellations that interrupted travel itineraries and may have required rebooking or alternative arrangements.
