The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has identified a potential threat to European visitor arrivals, suggesting that up to 41 million arrivals could be affected if border processing times extend to three hours.
These concerns arise in connection with the recent introduction of Europe’s Entry/Exit System (EES) at border controls. The WTTC’s analysis indicates that delays linked to this new system may disrupt the flow of travelers, with extended queues posing risks to tourism volumes.
