The Holland America cruise ship Zaandam encountered a propulsion system malfunction during its Alaska itinerary in June 2026. This technical issue resulted in significant itinerary changes for the vessel and its passengers.
Following the propulsion concern, the Zaandam made an unplanned overnight stop in Juneau, Alaska. Due to the nature of the problem, all subsequent scheduled port visits on the cruise were canceled. Holland America Cruise Line confirmed the situation, indicating the need to adjust the itinerary accordingly.
