Norwegian Cruise Line has cancelled hundreds of sailing days for the Norwegian Viva that were originally planned from its previous homeport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This move represents a significant contraction of the ship’s deployment in Puerto Rico.

Relocation of Norwegian Viva to Miami Homeport Through 2028

The cruise line officially announced it will relocate Norwegian Viva’s Caribbean homeport to Miami, Florida, with this arrangement set to continue through 2028. This change marks a shift away from Puerto Rico as the base for Norwegian Viva’s Caribbean operations.

Along with this relocation, the company is redirecting its expansion efforts toward the Miami and Bahamas markets. These adjustments have resulted

in a major disruption to planned Caribbean cruise itineraries and market dynamics.

Passengers who previously booked cruises on Norwegian Viva departing from San Juan will be directly impacted by these cancellations. They will need to modify their travel arrangements to accommodate the ship’s new Miami homeport and the resulting itinerary changes.
