California has recently awarded a contract valued at $3.5 billion to advance the construction of the Central Valley segment of its high-speed rail project. The agreement focuses on the installation of electrified railway tracks and associated systems, marking a significant phase in the longstanding development of the state’s high-speed rail network.
A consortium led by the construction firm Kiewit has been selected to undertake this contract. The group will be responsible for laying track and installing the required electrified systems along the Central Valley route, supporting the state’s efforts to continue building out this key transportation corridor.
