Severe weather associated with Typhoon Jangmi has resulted in numerous flight cancellations and delays affecting Tokyo and various parts of eastern Japan. Airlines faced significant disruptions in their schedules as the typhoon’s impact intensified across these regions.
Rail transport was also notably affected, with services in eastern Japan experiencing suspensions and delays, complicating travel plans during the storm. Efforts have started to restore normal operations for train lines, although travelers should anticipate continued delays during the recovery phase.
Major carriers such as Japan Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, and Vietjet Air halted flights on certain routes, including the Hanoi to Tokyo corridor
servicing Haneda and Narita airports. These suspensions have contributed to the concentration of cancellations in the affected airports.
Travelers planning trips to or within eastern Japan, especially Tokyo, are advised to stay informed about potential disruptions in both air and rail transport as services gradually resume. The situation remains fluid with airlines and rail operators working to manage the ongoing impact.
