An outbreak of contagious gastrointestinal illness has been reported on a cruise ship sailing in Alaska. Both passengers and crew members aboard the Alaska-bound vessel experienced symptoms consistent with a viral gastrointestinal infection, prompting health concerns during the voyage.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently conducting an investigation into the outbreak. According to available reports, twelve individuals aboard the National Geographic Sea Bird were affected. The CDC’s efforts focus on identifying the source of the illness and helping to prevent further spread among those on board.
