The Sri Lankan government has introduced a new scheme offering a free 30-day Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for tourists. This facility facilitates entry for travelers seeking to visit Sri Lanka for short stays without charge for the ETA process.
The program applies to visitors from 40 countries, including India, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia. Eligible travelers from these nations can obtain the free tourist ETA to enter Sri Lanka for tourism purposes.
Efforts to Support Tourism Recovery
This initiative aims to contribute to the revival of Sri Lanka’s tourism sector by encouraging an increase in global visitor
arrivals during 2026. By easing access requirements through the free 30-day ETA, the government is seeking to attract more international tourists and strengthen the country’s tourism recovery.
