The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has raised concerns about substantial delays triggered by the implementation of Europe’s new Entry-Exit System (EES). The council estimates that these delays could jeopardize up to 41 million visitor arrivals across the continent and may continue for nearly two years before stabilization.

The border processing times linked to the EES might extend to around three hours, causing significant wait times for travelers entering Europe. Such prolonged queues pose considerable risks to tourism revenue and negatively impact visitor experience at European border crossings implementing the new system.
