In early June 2026, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Executive Council formally approved a set of eight strategic priorities intended to advance global travel and tourism growth. These initiatives have been developed to serve as central pillars for the industry’s recovery and continued development.
Focus on Resilience, Investment, and Sustainability
The adopted priorities emphasize enhancing the resilience of the travel and tourism sector, ensuring it can better withstand future challenges. Another key objective is to attract increased global investment, which is viewed as vital for sustaining expansion and innovation within the industry. Additionally, these priorities underline the importance of pursuing sustainable transformations, aiming to
support long-term environmental and social responsibility in tourism.
By endorsing this framework, the WTTC expects to provide a strategic foundation that guides the travel and tourism sector toward stronger, more sustainable growth patterns. The approved initiatives are positioned as fundamental drivers for revitalizing international travel and fostering ongoing sector advancement over time.
