WTE Miami 2026, the fourth edition of the World Travel Expo, officially opened on October 27, 2026, at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach. The two-day event was inaugurated by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Miami International Airport Director and CEO Ralph Cutié, and PortMiami Director and CEO Jonathan Daniels.
Nearly 2,000 qualified and vetted attendees participated on the opening day, engaging with more than 400 exhibitors. This daily attendance surpassed the total attendance recorded for the entire event last year, highlighting strong industry demand for networking and connecting with new travel
products and experiences.
Event Purpose and Industry Impact
Simon Press, Managing Director of WTE Miami, emphasized the importance of the event’s neutral platform for the travel industry. He said the show successfully increased content and value for participants this year by expanding both the number of exhibitors and conference sessions. Simon Press also noted that travel advisors were actively engaging in conversations about new experiences and learning about current travel trends.
Conference Highlights and Research Insights
The conference program included a well-attended presentation by Rose Mary Cortes from MMGY, who shared insights from MMGY’s annual Portrait of American Travelers study. Cortes outlined how travelers are increasingly using artificial intelligence to
discover destinations and seek to maximize vacation value by exploring multiple locations and diverse experiences in a single trip. She noted opportunities for destinations to inspire travelers by showcasing various experiences.
Additional sessions covered topics such as destination development, the impact of major events, adventure travel, cruising, multi-destination itineraries, and culinary and wellness travel. The discussions addressed emerging opportunities anticipated for 2027 and how traveler preferences continue to evolve.
Focus on Travel Advisors and Industry Trends
Cyndi Williams, Founder and CEO of Wanderlust Campus®, highlighted the importance of developing profitable travel advisors beyond product knowledge. She stressed that successful travel businesses require strong business systems, entrepreneurial skills,
and professional certifications. Host agencies investing in these areas alongside their advisors are positioned to succeed in the evolving travel market.
The conference sessions aimed to equip travel advisors with insights into trending destinations, products, and experiences to enhance their client offerings.
Networking and Second Day Activities
The first day concluded with a cocktail reception, allowing attendees to expand their professional networks within the travel industry. WTE Miami continued on October 28 with additional exhibitions, sessions, and business development opportunities.
The event remains focused on connecting tourism leaders and travel professionals to explore innovations shaping travel’s future.
