Viking Cruises has opened reservations for its 2028 and 2029 ocean cruises, offering more than 700 new departure dates across 80 voyages. These itineraries visit 301 ports in 84 countries on six continents, marking the company’s largest ocean deployment to date.
Expanded Itineraries Include Alaska, Mediterranean, and Japan
The 2028-2029 schedule introduces two new itineraries: a 15-day “Alaskan Fjords & the Inside Passage” route from Vancouver to Whittier, featuring kayaking, hiking, and cultural experiences with the Tlingit people; and a 16-day “Mediterranean, Malta & North Africa” voyage roundtrip from Rome, including stops at Valletta, North Africa, Andalusia’s Alhambra Palace, Provence, and Corsica. The popular 15-day “Japan Discovery”
itinerary roundtrip from Tokyo continues with added departures, visiting Niigata, Hakata (Fukuoka), Sapporo, and Shimizu, with cultural highlights including overnight stays and geisha arts presentations.
New Ocean Ships Viking Vega and Viking Leda Scheduled for Delivery
Viking’s two new ocean vessels, Viking Vega and Viking Leda, are slated for delivery in 2028 and 2029 respectively. Each ship will have a gross tonnage of 54,300 tons, 499 veranda staterooms accommodating 998 guests, and feature Scandinavian design elements, light-filled public spaces, and extensive al fresco dining options.
Anniversary Sale Offers Reduced Fares and Low Deposit
Through August 31, 2026, Viking is running an Anniversary Sale for North American travelers. Offers include reduced fares, up to free international airfare on select itineraries,
