Viking has opened bookings for its 2028 and 2029 ocean voyages, offering more than 700 new departure dates across 80 voyages. These trips visit 301 ports in 84 countries on six continents, marking Viking’s largest ocean deployment to date.
New Itineraries for 2028-2029
Two new itineraries debut: the 15-day Alaskan Fjords & the Inside Passage voyage from Vancouver to Whittier, featuring opportunities to kayak, hike, and meet Tlingit hosts; and the 16-day Mediterranean, Malta & North Africa itinerary, a Rome roundtrip that includes Valletta, Malta, North African shores, Andalusia, Provence, and Corsica with cultural highlights like the Alhambra Palace and the Knights of St.
John legacy. Additionally, the 15-day Japan Discovery itinerary sails roundtrip from Tokyo with stops in Niigata, Hakata (Fukuoka), Sapporo, Shimizu, the Sea of Japan, and the southeast tip of the Korean Peninsula.
New Ships Viking Vega and Viking Leda
The deployment features two new ocean ships: the Viking Vega, scheduled for delivery in 2028, and the Viking Leda, arriving in 2029. Each sister ship will have a gross tonnage of 54,300 tons and 499 all-veranda staterooms, accommodating 998 guests. Their design incorporates Scandinavian aesthetics, light-filled public spaces, and abundant al fresco dining options.
Booking Benefits and Sale
Viking’s Anniversary Sale, valid through August 31, 2026, offers North American travelers reduced fares,
up to free international airfare on select itineraries, and a $25 deposit for all Viking ocean, river, and expedition voyages. Early bookings allow travelers to secure preferred sailings well in advance.
