Victoria line services on the London Underground were partially suspended on October 5, 2026, with no trains running between Brixton and Victoria stations following a signal fault at Brixton. Transport for London (TfL) reported severe delays across the entire Victoria line during efforts to resolve the fault.
London Northwestern Railway Disruption
National Rail confirmed that a train fault between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey closed railway lines, affecting London Northwestern Railway services. The disruption was expected to continue throughout much of the morning, impacting commuters on the route.
Delays on Other London Underground Lines
TfL reported minor delays on the District line between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon caused by
a faulty train at Parson’s Green. The Piccadilly line experienced minor delays between Acton Town and Heathrow Airport due to an earlier track inspection and an ill passenger at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3. The Central line also faced minor delays following earlier train cancellations.
Speed Restrictions and Tram Service Reductions
A speed restriction on the Great Western Railway between West Ealing and Greenford led to a reduced train service, according to National Rail. Planned engineering works resulted in partial tram line closures until Wednesday, with no eastbound services between Wandle Park and Centrale and no westbound services between Church Street and Wandle Park, as detailed
by TfL.
The combined effect of these faults and planned works has significantly impacted commuters using the affected routes across London. TfL and National Rail provided explanations attributing the Victoria line suspension to the signal fault at Brixton, London Northwestern Railway delays to a train fault, District line delays to a faulty train at Parson’s Green, and tram service interruptions to ongoing engineering maintenance.
