United Airlines will begin daily nonstop flights between Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut, and San Francisco International Airport on March 28, 2027. The year-round service will depart Bradley at 6:30 p.m. local time, providing travelers with direct evening flights to the West Coast destination.

United Expands Network at Bradley with West Coast Service

This new route increases United’s connections at Bradley to five out of its eight U.S. hubs, complementing existing nonstop flights from Bradley to Houston, Chicago, Denver, and Washington, D.C. Michael W. Shea, executive director and CEO of the Connecticut Airport Authority, said the flight links the region to a key business and leisure market, enhancing

convenience and access. Mark Weithofer, managing director of Domestic Network Planning at United Airlines, stated that the service reflects the airline’s commitment to Connecticut by offering customers broader choices and seamless connections via the San Francisco hub.

Bradley Airport Upgrades Support Growing Service

Last year, Bradley International Airport received over $8 million in federal funding to improve facilities in Terminal A. The airport recently completed a three-year project that expanded security checkpoints by adding extra lanes and more corridors for TSA screening, increasing capacity to accommodate rising passenger volumes and new routes like the San Francisco nonstop service.

Benefits for Connecticut Travelers Accessing West Coast and Beyond

The introduction of daily nonstop flights from Bradley

to San Francisco will provide Connecticut travelers with direct access to an important West Coast hub. This connection offers expanded travel options not only for business and leisure trips to California but also for international connections across Asia and Oceania available through San Francisco International Airport. The new service improves convenience by reducing the need for connections at other hubs and increases route options from the Hartford region.
