United Airlines will introduce nonstop daily service between Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut, and San Francisco International Airport starting March 28, 2027. The year-round flight will depart Bradley at 6:30 p.m. each evening, providing consistent evening departures for travelers.
Expanded Connections via San Francisco
Passengers using the new Bradley-San Francisco nonstop route can connect to a broad range of destinations across the western United States, as well as to locations in Asia and Oceania, through United’s San Francisco hub. Currently, Bradley International offers direct flights to Chicago, Denver, Washington, D.C., and Houston—a route United added earlier this year—linking Connecticut with five of the airline’s
eight U.S. hubs.
Infrastructure and Network Investments at Bradley
United’s expanded service represents a strengthened commitment to Bradley International, following recent investments in airport infrastructure. The Connecticut Airport Authority completed a three-year expansion project enhancing security checkpoints to improve passenger processing. Additionally, Bradley Airport received over $8 million in federal funding last year to upgrade Terminal A, supporting increased flight operations.
Officials Highlight Regional Benefits
Michael W. Shea, Executive Director and CEO of the Connecticut Airport Authority, emphasized that the new nonstop flight connects the community with significant business and leisure destinations, offering increased convenience and access to the West Coast and global travel. Shea said, “We are thrilled that
United Airlines is strengthening its presence at Bradley International Airport with the addition of year-round nonstop service to San Francisco.”
Mark Weithofer, Managing Director of Domestic Network Planning at United Airlines, stated the new daily service expands choices for Connecticut travelers and reinforces United’s regional commitment. “We’re excited to grow our network from Hartford with new daily service to San Francisco,” Weithofer said. “This new service strengthens our commitment to the region, offering customers greater choice and seamless connections across our global network from San Francisco.”
