TUI Airlines has unveiled 25 new routes for its summer 2027 schedule, increasing capacity by roughly 640,000 seats compared to summer 2026. This expansion raises the airline’s total seat offering to about 17 million across 84,000 flights, following its consolidation of five national airlines into a single commercial operation. The network changes reflect TUI’s strategic shift to enhance seat-only flight sales alongside its package holiday business.
London Gatwick Leads Route Expansion
London Gatwick Airport will gain eight new routes, expanding TUI’s destinations from the airport to 59. New direct flights will connect Gatwick with Athens and Mytilene in Greece, Palermo in Sicily, Santiago de Compostela,
Seville, and Valencia in Spain, along with Tangier in Morocco and Djerba in Tunisia. Most of these new Gatwick services will operate two to three times weekly, increasing travel options for both leisure and city-break travelers.
Operations Scale and Network Consolidation
The 2027 summer schedule marks a major operational scale, with TUI utilising a combined fleet of 130 aircraft following its unification of five national airlines into one commercial entity. The airline’s seat capacity grows by 4.6% over the previous year, supporting a network that features 84,000 flights during the summer season. The strategy emphasizes expanding offerings for independent travelers through increased seat-only flight availability,
while maintaining package holidays as a core segment.
Continental European Route Enhancements
On Europe’s continent, TUI is upgrading services in Germany and the Netherlands. Düsseldorf will host a new twice-weekly Boeing 787 Dreamliner route to Curacao and gain connections to Malaga, Naples, Venice, and Ljubljana. Hanover receives new flights to Malaga and Olbia in Sardinia. Amsterdam will operate a twice-weekly Boeing 787 service to Kilimanjaro via Zanzibar and is expected to introduce TUI’s Boeing 737-10 fleet in the second quarter of 2027 pending certification. Belgian routes to Majorca, the Canaries, and Marrakech will see increased frequency to compensate for service reductions at Liege and
Antwerp.
Meanwhile, UK airports including London Luton and Dublin will see reductions in TUI departures as the airline focuses on densifying core hubs such as London Gatwick and Manchester. Travellers from affected regions may need to route through these larger airports or use alternative carriers.
Passengers planning summer 2027 travel are advised to verify departure points and schedules since route frequency and days of operation have changed. This adjustment is a consequence of TUI’s network restructuring and capacity shift toward higher-demand airports and routes.
