The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop at Chicago O’Hare Airport starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday due to thunderstorms in the area. Departures to and from the airport were temporarily halted, with the ground stop scheduled to expire at 5:15 p.m.

Within the past 24 hours, six flights at O’Hare have been canceled as a result of the weather-related ground stop. This measure caused delays and disruptions to flight operations at the Chicago hub during the affected period.
