On June 30, 2026, severe thunderstorms led to extensive flight cancellations at London Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The adverse weather conditions caused operations to be severely disrupted, resulting in the grounding of numerous flights across both major London airports.

As a consequence of these cancellations, approximately 40,000 passengers were left stranded at Heathrow and Gatwick. Many travelers faced delays and uncertainty as the storms forced airport authorities to halt departures and arrivals temporarily.
