Sri Lanka showcased its tourism sector with two distinct pavilions at ITB Asia 2026, held from 21 to 23 October 2026 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

The event marked the 19th edition of ITB Asia and coincided with MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia, targeting multiple tourism industry segments within the Asia-Pacific region.

Sri Lanka Pavilions Focus on Business Events and Wellness

The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau organized a pavilion at the MICE Show Asia segment to promote the country’s meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) capabilities.

Participating companies in the Convention Bureau pavilion included Aitken Spence Travels, Blackpool Resort & Spa,

Ceylon Experiences, Cinnamon Hotel Management, Esna Holidays Sri Lanka, Radisson Blu Galadari Colombo, Serene Travels & Tours, World of Travel, SriLankan Airlines, and Walkers Tours.

Separately, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau coordinated another pavilion concentrating on leisure and wellness tourism, with an emphasis on Ayurveda.

Participants in this leisure-focused pavilion included Jetwing Travels, Siddhalepa Ayurveda Health Resort, Chamo Tours and Travels, Pegasus Reef Hotel, Karusan Travels, Magical Isle Holidays, and Sen Wellness Sanctuary.

Leadership and Official Representation

The two pavilions were officially opened by Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Senarath Dissanayake.

The Convention Bureau delegation was led by Chairman Dheera Hettiarachchi, supported

by Marketing Manager Malkanthi Welikala, while the Tourism Promotion Bureau delegation was headed by Assistant Director Nithini Senanayake.

Bhagya Abeykoon, Minister Counsellor for Commercial Affairs at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore, facilitated engagement between Sri Lankan companies and international travel professionals during the event.

Significance of ITB Asia 2026 for Sri Lankan Tourism

ITB Asia, an established annual travel trade show in Singapore, brings together industry stakeholders involved in various segments including MICE and travel technology.

The 2026 edition offered Sri Lanka a platform to present its diverse tourism offerings and engage with buyers and industry partners across the Asia-Pacific region.

Promoting Business and Leisure Travel Through Dual Pavilions

The strategic deployment of two pavilions

allowed Sri Lanka to simultaneously highlight its business event infrastructure and leisure travel options, particularly focusing on wellness and Ayurveda tourism.

This dual presence enabled participating Sri Lankan companies to showcase services, network internationally, and explore partnership opportunities within multiple tourism sectors at ITB Asia 2026.
