Consultancies Engaged for International Promotion and Strategic Planning
The Tourism Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism initiated the engagement of consultancies to establish a framework for international marketing. This effort forms part of a broader five-year strategy designed to reposition Sri Lanka’s tourism sector into a high-growth phase through enhanced
global promotion.
Tourism Targets Set for 2026-2030
The strategic plan includes targets of 2.7 million tourists and $4.2 billion in revenue for 2026. For 2027, the goals are more than 3 million arrivals and $5 billion in revenue. The plan’s long-term ambition aims to elevate tourism earnings to $10 billion by 2030, establishing Sri Lanka as a significant tourism market in the region.
