The Sri Lankan government has implemented a policy granting a free electronic travel authorization (ETA) valid for 30 days to tourists. This new measure applies to visitors from 40 countries and is intended to facilitate travel to the island nation.
Citizens of countries including India, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia are among those eligible to receive the no-cost 30-day ETA. This broad eligibility reflects an effort to attract a diverse range of international travelers.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to accelerate recovery in the tourism sector by easing entry
requirements and encouraging more global visitors to experience Sri Lanka. The government hopes the free ETA will help stimulate tourism arrivals in the near term.
