Southwest Airlines will start nonstop flights connecting Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) directly to Las Vegas on March 13, 2027. The new route will operate on Saturdays and Sundays, providing travelers with an additional weekend option for direct travel to Nevada.

The nonstop flights from Knoxville to Las Vegas will take approximately 4.5 hours. As of July 17, 2026, the lowest available basic fare for a direct trip late March is priced at $573.80, compared with $458.41 for a one-stop itinerary on the same dates and fare conditions. Allegiant Airlines currently operates nonstop flights between Knoxville and Las Vegas, providing
travelers with an alternative direct carrier on the route.
Southwest and McGhee Tyson Airport Growth
Southwest Airlines has been serving McGhee Tyson Airport for about one year. The addition of nonstop Las Vegas flights follows passenger demand and prior negotiations between the airport and airline. McGhee Tyson has experienced growth as multiple carriers such as Allegiant, American, Avelo, Delta, Frontier, and United add new routes. United recently announced a nonstop flight from Knoxville to Newark, and Allegiant expanded service to Gulf Shores and Sarasota. Avelo operates seasonal flights between Knoxville and New Haven.

more conveniently.
