Southwest Airlines announced new direct flights from Pittsburgh International Airport beginning June 5, 2027. These flights will operate exclusively on Saturdays.
New routes from Pittsburgh will include Panama City, Florida; Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic; and Savannah, Georgia.
With the addition of these destinations, Southwest will operate 25 nonstop routes from Pittsburgh International Airport, the highest number among carriers there. Southwest currently accounts for 26% of passengers at the airport.
The airline will also increase service frequency on existing routes. Flights to Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida, will switch from a Saturday-only schedule to daily service starting summer 2027. Cancun,
Mexico flights will rise to approximately two per week. Daily flights will increase to four per day to Tampa, Florida, and two per day to Las Vegas, Nevada.
By comparison, American Airlines carries 23% of Pittsburgh International Airport’s passengers, slightly less than Southwest.
Travelers using Pittsburgh International Airport will have more nonstop flight options and greater flight frequency to key leisure destinations starting mid-2027.
