Southwest is headquartered at Dallas Love Field airport, where operations were less affected compared to the broader network. At 9:15 a.m., Dallas
Love Field recorded 56 delayed flights and seven cancellations. City of Dallas’ Department of Aviation spokesperson Lauren Rounds confirmed Southwest’s internal network issues on the morning of October 9.
During the outage, Southwest manually processed baggage checks and passenger boarding while working to restore full system functionality. A Southwest Airlines spokesperson said, “The airline continued to check baggage and board flights manually while full functionality was restored.”
Southwest Airlines apologized for the inconvenience and stated, “We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience and are working to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible. Nothing is more important
