More than 900 flights have been cancelled or grounded at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports on June 30, 2026, due to intense thunderstorms disrupting airport operations. The severe weather conditions have significantly hindered flight schedules at these major UK airports.

As a result of these cancellations, an estimated 40,000 passengers are currently stranded at the two airports. The disruptions have caused widespread travel challenges throughout the day, with airport staff managing the impacts of the large-scale operational interruptions.
