Royal Caribbean has canceled several planned cruises scheduled for the 2027 season departing from US ports, affecting trips aboard Navigator of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas, the line confirmed.
These cancellations accompany the cruise line’s redeployment strategy to expand operations in the Asia-Pacific region and Australia. Navigator of the Seas will operate year-round in Asia from October 2026 through October 2027, while Ovation of the Seas will reposition to Brisbane, Australia, for its 2027-28 season beginning November 2027.
Navigator of the Seas will offer 2- to 5-night itineraries around Southeast Asian destinations including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand. It
will also include a 12-night cruise from Tokyo to Singapore. Ovation of the Seas’ itineraries from Brisbane feature 4-night sailings to Airlie Beach in Queensland’s Whitsundays, as well as cruises ranging from 3 to 8 nights visiting ports around Australia and its surroundings.
In an earlier redeployment, Royal Caribbean canceled over 20 summer 2027 cruises for Freedom of the Seas to shift the ship to Southampton, England. A spokesperson said deployment planning is dynamic and regularly reviewed based on demand and capacity requirements.
Royal Caribbean stated, “The company is committed to providing the best vacation experiences. This process includes making
updates to itineraries, as necessary, to accommodate scheduling, port agreements, and other operational considerations.” The cruise line emphasized that guests and travel partners affected by cancellations receive direct communication regarding their bookings.
Passengers impacted by the canceled sailings have been contacted with options including switching to other voyages within the Royal Caribbean fleet, transferring to select ships, or obtaining full refunds, including on prepaid add-ons.
