National Rail confirmed that the affected lines reopened at 13:00 BST the same day, allowing trains to resume running normally. Rail replacement buses operated on parts of the affected routes to help manage passenger disruption while the lines were closed.
West Midlands Railway services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street experienced delays and cancellations as a
result of the blockage. Transport for Wales services running between Llandudno Junction, Crewe, and Birmingham International were also impacted during the disruption.
