Princess Cruises launched the cruise industry’s first AI-powered native app on ChatGPT on September 28, 2026, enabling travelers to plan cruises across 330-plus destinations and 17 ships with real-time, trusted booking data. It is the first global cruise line to offer AI-powered cruise planning directly integrated into ChatGPT.

App Features Enable Conversational Cruise Planning

The app connects directly to Princess Cruises’ booking system, letting users browse cruises, check pricing and availability, and customize itineraries through conversational AI. Travelers can refine plans by asking follow-up questions in the same interaction, such as itinerary differences or specific destination visits, making cruise planning more intuitive and faster.

Guests can

explore destinations like Alaska, including Glacier Bay National Park, the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Mexican Riviera, Europe, South America, Australia/New Zealand, South Pacific, Hawaii, Asia, Canada/New England, and Antarctica. They can inquire about ports of departure such as Seattle to tailor their cruise experience.

Industry Leaders Highlight AI Integration

Neena Vicente, Vice President of Digital Commerce and Experience at Princess Cruises, said the app’s launch positions the brand at the forefront of agentic commerce in cruising, reflecting a shift toward using generative AI for complex trip planning. She said, “There is a broader shift in travel discovery as consumers increasingly use generative AI not simply to

find information, but to help evaluate choices and plan increasingly complex trips.”

Andrew Boch, CEO of Mobi, commended Princess Cruises for adopting AI technology early. He said, “Princess has been remarkably forward-thinking about how AI will reshape the way travelers discover and engage with brands.” Boch added, “We have enormous respect for the Princess team, and I believe the foundation they’re putting in place today will give them a real advantage as these new channels become an increasingly important part of travel.”

Rosemary DeAragon, Head of Technology & Consumer Industries at OpenAI, noted the app demonstrates effective collaboration between AI

platforms and travel brands. She remarked, “We’re building ChatGPT to help people move from discovery to action. Princess Cruises’ app brings that experience into the cruise industry, showing how AI platforms and travel brands can work together to make planning more seamless, useful and conversational.”
