Portugal to Strengthen Airport Border Controls

The Portuguese government is set to deploy an additional 340 agents of the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) at airport border control points. This measure is part of an official initiative designed to reinforce security across Portugal’s airports.

Implementation of this enhanced staffing plan is scheduled to begin on July 4, 2026. The additional PSP personnel deployment aims to bolster border control efforts, contributing to improved airport security at Portugal’s international entry points.
