On July 14, 2026, over 500 flights were cancelled across John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, and LaGuardia Airport in the New York area. These cancellations affected both arriving and departing flights at the three major airports.
Severe thunderstorms combined with shortages in air traffic control staffing led to the widespread flight disruptions. Delta Air Lines recorded the highest number of cancellations among carriers for the second consecutive day.
