Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled hundreds of planned sailings for the Norwegian Viva that were scheduled to depart from San Juan, Puerto Rico. These cancellations represent a significant change in the ship’s deployment within the Caribbean cruise market.
Following the cancellations, Norwegian Cruise Line will reposition the Norwegian Viva, assigning Miami, Florida as the ship’s new homeport through 2028. This move coincides with a strategic focus on expanding cruise offerings centered on Miami and the Bahamas.
Travelers who have bookings on Norwegian Viva sailings departing from San Juan will need to consider rebooking options, either adjusting to alternative dates or
exploring cruises embarking from Miami. The adjustments affect a broad range of itineraries originally planned for the Puerto Rico departure point.
