Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. announced new wellness, dining, and recreational features for Norwegian Aura, the largest ship in its Prima Plus Class, ahead of its 2026 launch. The ship will debut with extensive enhancements designed to expand guest relaxation and culinary choices.
Extensive Thermal Suite and Mandara Spa Facilities
Norwegian Aura will include the largest Thermal Suite in the cruise industry, offering 15 wellness experiences grounded in contrast therapy. Among these are 11 new treatments such as the Sensory Rain Pool, which immerses guests in simulated tropical rain and thunderstorm effects, and the Blue Glow Suite, featuring calming blue light for post-travel recovery. Additional features include
a Foot Spa, Waterfall Experience, Snow Cave, Reflection Pool, and Hot and Cold Plunge pools.
The Mandara Spa designed by the Rockwell Group spans two decks with 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon, and a Skin Lab. It extends spa offerings to include medical treatments like IV therapy, NAD+ injections for energy, and acupuncture. The spa also houses a modern fitness center with training studios and wellness programming.
Introduction of Tamara and The Panorama Room
Norwegian Aura debuts Tamara, Norwegian Cruise Line’s first specialty restaurant devoted exclusively to Indian cuisine, located on Deck 8. Its design draws on North Indian temple and courtyard architecture and includes an
open kitchen with tandoor ovens. The menu highlights regional dishes such as Short-Rib Dosa and Lamb Biryani.
The ship also introduces The Panorama Room on Deck 6, a complimentary dining venue featuring immersive visual technology. It uses LED displays, multi-channel audio, and dynamic lighting to create evolving scenic environments during meals.
Expanded Dining Venues and Redesigned Bars
Norwegian Aura offers 22 food and beverage outlets covering more than 10 cuisines. Several existing restaurants received redesigns or seating expansions to improve comfort and access. Le Bistro and Sukhothai on Deck 7 have refreshed interiors. Palomar, Onda by Scarpetta, and Cagney’s Steakhouse on Deck 8 feature wider seating
and updated designs. Japanese specialists Hasuki and Nama have new decor for a lighter atmosphere. The Indulge Food Hall returns with nine global food stations, now including a Middle Eastern concept and Mexican favorites inspired by Los Lobos.
Guests at The Haven luxury enclave benefit from new designs for The Haven Bar, Lounge, and Restaurant, created by Studio DADO with natural elements and earth tones. Bars such as Penrose Bar & Atrium have doubled seating and now include a dedicated entertainment stage. Other refreshed lounges include the Metropolitan Bar, Swirl Wine Bar, Belvedere Bar, Whiskey Bar, and the Daybreak Bar
overlooking the pool.
New Family and Adventure Facilities at Ocean Heights
Ocean Heights, a new activity hub aboard Norwegian Aura, features six water slides, an 82-foot ropes course, a multi-level obstacle course, Moon Climber, and Aura Midway with carnival games and a nine-hole mini golf course. It also introduces the line’s first overhanging cabanas above the Vibe Beach Club with a dedicated bar, providing spaces for relaxation overlooking the ocean.
Itineraries and Official Statements
Norwegian Aura will commence operations with a seven-day Mediterranean cruise from Trieste, Italy to Barcelona, Spain, starting May 21, 2027. This will be followed by a 13-day transatlantic crossing to Miami. Summer 2027 and 2028 itineraries include seven-day
