The nor’easter also forced the postponement of the AC/DC concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, rescheduled from September 25 to October 2.
Official responses included state of emergency declarations by the governors of New York and New Jersey in counties facing
the worst storm conditions, including New York City. Connecticut’s governor activated the Emergency Operations Center to manage coordination of the storm response. The US National Weather Service issued warnings about continued coastal flooding, hazardous rip currents, strong wind gusts, and heavy rainfall expected through Monday.
Flooding affected large portions of New Jersey, from Bergen County down to Cape May County, prompting voluntary evacuation notices in some Jersey Shore communities.
