Nepal recorded the arrival of over 100,000 foreign tourists during May 2026, reflecting renewed activity in the country’s tourism sector following the disruptions caused by the pandemic. This increase highlights a notable rebound in visitor numbers as the industry continues to recover.
Among the countries contributing to this inflow, India emerged as the top source market for tourists visiting Nepal in May 2026. India surpassed other traditionally significant source countries including China, the United States, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, marking a shift in the composition of foreign arrivals.
