Train Operations Resumed With Restrictions After Flooding
Western Railway restored operations of all major and premium trains on the Mumbai-Gujarat corridor by Saturday, July 25, 2026, following progressive restoration efforts through July 24. Train movements resumed along the route with minor delays as network conditions stabilized. Speed restrictions of 15 km/h were imposed at affected sections on July 24 to safely restore the timetable.
Premium services including the Vande Bharat Express, Karnavati
Express, Double Decker, Shatabdi Express, and Rajdhani Express resumed operations after cancellations on July 24. The Mumbai Central to Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express arrived 20 minutes late on the morning of July 25 but was scheduled to depart on time for its return journey.
Specific Train Delays and Ongoing Cancellations
The morning Vande Bharat Express trains departing from Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Capital reached their destinations with delays of around one hour on July 25. Afternoon Vande Bharat services from the same stations were scheduled to run as per normal on that day.
Despite restoration, some residual delays are expected as train movements continue to be regulated.
Dozens of premium, long-distance, and passenger trains were cancelled between July 23 and 24 due to flooding. Certain cancellations remained in effect on July 25, including Borivali-Vatva Express (19417), Bandra Terminus-Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Special (02200), Amritsar-Bandra Terminus Golden Temple Express (12904), and Jamnagar-Vadodara Intercity (22960).
Further cancellations scheduled for July 26 include Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Jamnagar Superfast (12478), Amritsar-Bandra Terminus Paschim Express (12926), and Dadar-Porbandar Express (19015). Western Railway advised passengers to verify the latest train running status before traveling.
