Monaco received nearly 6.7 million visitors in 2025, resulting in close to €1.4 billion in tourism spending, according to a report by the Monaco Statistics Institute (IMSEE) and the Directorate of Tourism and Congresses. The majority of arrivals were day-trippers, accounting for 92.5% of visits, while overnight tourists made up 7.5% of the total.
Visitor Spending Patterns and Economic Contribution
Day visitors spent an average of €76 per day during their visits. Overnight tourists, despite their smaller share of total visits, accounted for more than 61% of the tourism sector’s economic impact due to substantially higher daily expenditures, averaging €348 per person. Visitors from the Middle
East recorded the highest average daily spending, exceeding €1,000 each.
Hotels were the predominant choice for accommodation, with overnight tourists staying an average of 3.8 days. Nearly half of all visitors came from France, while 42% of overnight tourists originated from outside the European Union. Tourism spending in 2025 contributed approximately 6.8% to Monaco’s economy excluding the financial and insurance sectors.
