London Northwestern Railway (LNR) will experience significant service disruptions on July 10 and 11, 2026, as the TSSA trade union initiates a two-day rail strike. This industrial action will lead to a full shutdown of the Marston Vale Line and reduced services across multiple routes.

Details of Affected Routes and Service Reductions

The strike will halt all trains on the Marston Vale Line between Bedford and Bletchley for both days. Scheduled services on stops including Milton Keynes, Northampton, Watford Junction, and St Albans Abbey will operate on a limited basis. On July 10, no trains will run after 19:00 BST, with the last departure scheduled for 17:30.

During the strike, the London Euston to Crewe route will maintain one train per hour calling at Milton Keynes, while a similar hourly service will operate between Birmingham and London Euston via Northampton.

Official Statements and Passenger Advice

Jonny Wiseman from London Northwestern Railway acknowledged the strike’s impact, warning it will “cause significant disruption for our customers.” He added that the company “are doing everything we can to minimise the impact.” Passengers are advised to plan travel carefully on July 10 and 11 due to these service reductions. Additionally, some disruption is anticipated on Sunday morning, July 12, stemming from the displacement of trains during

the strike period.
