Italy is facing significant air travel disruptions on May 29, 2026, as a nationwide general strike is expected to cause cancellations of up to 1,150 flights. This disruption is anticipated to affect a substantial number of passengers across the country.
Approximately 179,000 travelers may experience impacts on their itineraries with cancellations reported at major Italian airports. Airports in Rome and Milan, two of the country’s busiest air travel hubs, will be especially affected, along with other airports throughout Italy.
