Hotel Indigo Raleigh reopened in early October 2026 following a $36 million renovation of its historic round tower building on Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. The building, constructed in 1969 and designated a historic landmark in 2015, remains a distinctive feature of the city skyline.

The hotel now offers 204 guest rooms designed in a mid-century-modern style. Interior design by the New York City–based firm Inc. preserves the building’s unique curved architecture and incorporates sculptural forms, bold geometric patterns, and locally inspired elements such as warm oak finishes to reflect Raleigh’s nickname, “City of Oaks.” The design also

features natural cork and curated North Carolina artworks contributed by nineDOTarts.

New amenities include the High Ground Lounge, a rooftop bar and restaurant on the 20th floor that provides panoramic views of the city skyline. The lounge serves elevated Southern cuisine and craft cocktails rooted in North Carolina and the broader Southern region. The hotel also offers a ground-floor community lounge featuring a vintage Airstream courtyard coffee bar and a 1,500-square-foot fitness center equipped with TechnoGym machines. Flexible meeting and event spaces are designed for both corporate gatherings and celebrations.

Tidal Real Estate Partners acquired the property in 2021 and

the hotel is managed by Denver-based Sage Hospitality Group, an award-winning hospitality company with over 40 years of experience. Hotel Indigo Raleigh is the first IHG Hotels & Resorts property located in downtown Raleigh, joining the brand’s North Carolina portfolio that includes locations in Asheville and Winston-Salem.

Carlos Faz, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Raleigh, said, “This building has been part of Raleigh’s story for generations, and we’re incredibly proud to welcome guests and our neighbors back through its doors.” Daniel del Olmo, Sage Hospitality Group’s President and CEO, described the reopening as “a meaningful investment in one of downtown

Raleigh’s most recognizable landmarks and in its future as a place that brings people together.”

The hotel aims to function as both a boutique lodging option and a community hub, offering social spaces for guests and locals, including the rooftop High Ground Lounge and the ground-floor lounge and coffee bar. Reservations are available through the hotel’s website.
