Holland America Line revealed the redesigned Ocean Bar aboard the Oosterdam in early September 2026, following the ship’s Evolution upgrade program. The Ocean Bar redesign includes a new stage, refreshed lounge spaces, and a reimagined layout to better connect guests with performances.
The transformation introduces a new stage to showcase a wider range of programming including regional soloists, pianists, Vivace Strings performances, and late-night cabaret. The bar has been strategically relocated within the Ocean Bar to create a stronger connection to performances and features refreshed furnishings made from recycled materials. Seating areas have been redesigned with a more open layout.
Custom furnishings are inspired by vintage travel trunks and luggage, incorporating leather accents.
The refurbishment is part of Holland America Line’s largest fleet update in its 153-year history. Following the Oosterdam, the Zuiderdam is the second ship to receive upgrades under the Evolution transformation. Both Oosterdam and Zuiderdam will receive new bandstands at the Lido Pool as part of the Evolution upgrades. The Oosterdam is set to offer eight itineraries and 15 departure dates across Europe, the Caribbean, and North America starting in late 2027 after its Fall drydock.
