HCW announced plans to begin construction in fall 2026 on a new 140-room hotel located adjacent to Horseshoe Indianapolis in Shelbyville, Indiana. The hotel, part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection brand, is scheduled to open in spring 2028, adding a lodging and leisure option beside the casino and horse racing venue.
Hotel Specifications and Amenities
The five-story hotel will cover 109,324 square feet and feature a mix of suites, king rooms, and double queen rooms catering to both business and leisure travelers. Amenities include an infinity pool with poolside seating overlooking surrounding waters, an integrated restaurant and bar with outdoor dining areas by the pool,
and a fitness center. The property will also offer two meeting rooms totaling 1,648 square feet of flexible space for gatherings and events.
Horseshoe Indianapolis: A Major Entertainment Destination
The hotel is situated next to Horseshoe Indianapolis, a Caesars Entertainment property that spans approximately 106,000 square feet dedicated to casino operations. Horseshoe Indianapolis hosts 1,480 gaming machines, 80 table games, a sportsbook, extensive meeting facilities totaling 22,000 square feet, and a live racetrack. The new hotel aims to attract guests visiting the casino for gaming, racing, live entertainment, meetings, special events, and leisure purposes.
Project Vision and Market Position
Rick Huffman, CEO of HCW, described the project as an opportunity to
complement Horseshoe Indianapolis while establishing its own destination appeal. The hotel is designed to blend the unique character and local influence typical of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection with the global brand’s resources. Combining accommodations, dining, meeting facilities, a resort-style pool, and proximately to a premier Indiana entertainment venue, the property targets visitors seeking a comprehensive lodging and entertainment experience within Shelbyville.
