Travel Alternatives and Passenger Guidance
Heathrow Airport advised passengers not to travel by road to or from Terminals 2 and 3 today. Instead, travelers were urged to use rail transport options including the Heathrow Express, Elizabeth Line, and Piccadilly Line services. Those traveling by car were directed to park at Terminals 4 or
5, then transfer to Terminals 2 and 3 via free rail shuttles or through local rail stations, with additional journey time allowed.
Terminal Operations and Response Efforts
The flooding did not impact the interior of Terminals 2 or 3, and flight operations remained unaffected on 15 August 2026. Heathrow Airport teams were actively addressing the situation to restore full road access. A spokesman confirmed that road closures remain in place as the repairs continue and apologized for the inconvenience during the busy school summer holiday period.
