Ground handling personnel at Brussels Airport joined a nationwide strike in Belgium on Friday, 9 October 2026, disrupting airport operations.
As a result of the strike, Brussels Airport confirmed to The Independent that around 100 flights were cancelled on that day.
The cancellations were directly caused by the industrial action of ground handling staff as part of the nationwide strike affecting Belgian airports.
